Cash Back is a massive, citywide outreach campaign, led by Citizens Committee for New York City , in partnership with grassroots organizations. The campaign – part of Citizens Committee’s anti-poverty initiative – provides first-time filers and other eligible New Yorkers with information about tax credits, such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), and links them to free tax preparation sites throughout the city. The community groups organize door-to-door campaigns, host workshops on tax credits, offer translation services to tax filers and distribute informational materials at public events.
